Meditation, breath, sound bath
Breathwork and Sound
These classes ask almost nothing of your body. You lie down or sit, and someone talks you through a pattern of breathing or plays instruments over the top of the room.
- Guided Meditation runs at noon on Wednesday, lasts 45 minutes, and costs nothing.
- Sound work is scheduled in blocks rather than weekly, so the dates move.
- The room is dimmed and we put bolsters out before people arrive.
Before you book breathwork
Your health and safety are our top priorities. If you have any of the following conditions, please consult a healthcare professional before participating in breathwork sessions.
- Epilepsy
- Pregnancy
- Detached Retina or Glaucoma
- Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure (not managed by medication)
- Cardiovascular Disease (including prior heart attacks)
- Use of Prescription Blood Thinners (e.g., Coumadin)
- Recent Hospitalization for Psychiatric Conditions or Emotional Crisis (within the last ten years)
- Family History of Aneurysms
- Strokes, TIAs, Seizures, or other Brain/Neurological Conditions
- Diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia by a Health Professional
- Osteoporosis (where intense movement could cause physical issues)
Special Note for Asthma: Asthma does not preclude you from participating in breathwork. However, we ask that you bring your inhaler to the session for your safety.

Wear something you can lie still in for 45 minutes. We have blankets and bolsters.
Level
There is no skill to have already. The teacher talks you through every pattern out loud, and people fall asleep in these, which is fine. Whether the class suits your body is a separate question, and the note above is how you answer it.
